Today is our Emily’s 5th birthday! Yeah! Emily is very girly, loves to wear dresses (especially purple), and enjoys dancing to her older sister’s CDs. But, the music isn’t always appropriate for a five-year-old. In searching for birthday gift ideas, I came across Kids Pop 2.0, a CD produced by AM2 Kids Music, that is age appropriate for children 4 – 12 to enjoy with their siblings, parents, and grandparents, too!

Responsible parenting involves taking the time to actually listen to the lyrics our children find entertaining. Often times they get past us until we hear our children singing the lyrics. Although they may not initially understand the meaning behind them, eventually their curiosity will lead them to it. AM2 Kids Music came about because a father and songwriter/performer, AM2, wanted his kids to be able to enjoy songs that promote clean fun and positive images, a concept that is difficult to find for young people today. The company is taking kids songs to the next level by providing age appropriate mainstream pop music for kids and sung by kids that address bullying, school lunch, and having fun, too.

The CD, Kids Pop 2.0, includes the popular Internet song, I’d Rather Be Sponge Bob, which you can listen to on the website. Our Emily lovs Sponge Bob…in fact her grandfather dressed as Sponge Bob Square Pants for her 4th birthday last year! I can’t wait for her to hear the song when we play it at her birthday party. I also like the song, I Have a Plan, which is especially appropriate for girls on how they need to stay focused on a plan to achieve all they can and not be swayed by young men who may not have their best interests at heart.

The album, Kids Pop 2.0, can be purchased for $5.00, plus s&h, directly from AM2K on their website http://www.am2musicpublishing.com.
