Grandparents’ handmade valentines and Valentine Poem. The best Valentines grandparents receive are the Valentines that their grandchildren made themselves…at least for us, they are! I don’t think any grandparent would disagree. As my children can attest to, they’ll tell you I’m sentimental and love a poem in my Valentine…so…I’ve written a simple Valentine Poem (see below) for grandchildren to include with their handmade Valentine for their grandparents. Retype, print, or write the poem on a white paper then glue it to the back of your handmade valentine for grandparents.

3 Handmade Valentines from Grandchildren

In my search for fun, easy Grandprents’ handmade Valentines from grandchildren, I came across a Tic-Tac-Toe design on BHG.com as shown below. It caught my attention at first because it is simple, but then I thought about the cost. If you are familiar with scrapbooking stickers, you’ll realize that to accumulate the X’s and O’s, you’d have to purchase several packs of ABC stickers which alone could total more than $6.00. So, I ran over to AC Moore and purchased supplies to make similar cards for less cost.

The first handmade tic-tac-toe Valentine design is from BHG.com, the second and third Grandparents’ handmade Valentines are similar designs by NanasCorner.com:

Hugs and Kisses Valentine Card 1

Tic-Tac-Toe is an easy and fun game to play with children. Help them create this grid pattern using strips of cardstock glued to the front of pink cardstock. Next they can rub-on X’s and O’s in eight of the squares. Tie a ribbon on a scrapbooking message tag to add to the ninth square for an added touch.  (See below for two handmade Valentine card versions I made.)

  • 3 sheets of cardstock (black, pink, and another for backing)
  • rub-on X’s and O’s stickers
  • 1 message tag
  • 1 short piece of ribbon
  • craft glue
