Grandchildren’s Great Christmas Present Ideas, part 1

This summer, while I have free time, I’ve decided to plan my Christmas shopping so I won’t be pressed after returning to school. I’ve done some searching and have decided for Kaitlin’s first gift, I’m going to order a “just like me” My Twinn Doll. Emily is too young to take care of it just yet so I’m going to order her a My Twinn Baby Doll. She’ll be almost 3 and into playing Mommy.

From the name, you can guess that a My Twinn doll resembles the child by choosing hair and eye color and skin tone. Through my searching, I also found American Girl Dolls which are also “just like me” dolls. As the wise old grandmother I am (well somewhat wise and not so old), I did some comparison shopping between MyTwinn Dolls and American Girl Dolls before I made my decision on which one to order for Kaitlin. I was much more impressed with MyTwinn.com than AmericanGirl.com by the larger selections for their skin and hair, and especially the customized hand painting of the facial features. Their website offered more information, also. I will definitely be placing my order for a MyTwinn Doll for Kaitlin and a My Twinn Baby Doll ($29) for Emily for the first of their 2008 Christmas presents.  Now, on second thought, I might give Emily a My Twinn Toddler Doll…they’re so adorable, just like her!
