God’s Garden, A Favorite Funeral Poem
Our children’s grandmother, my husband’s mother, passed away on August 5, 2008. She died at home, under the care of Hospice, with her four children at her side. Our Mom-Mom will be greatly missed but it was her time to go, her guardian angel was waiting for her.
This poem is dedicated to Mom-Mom…
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered “Peace Be Thine.â€
It breaks our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

Very Nice Poem Thanks
Hi,
I lost my grandpa on the 13th october 2012. I live here in the UK and he is from Philippines, I dont get to see him often and never got to do the grandchild/grandparent thing ie: talks about the olden days or picking me up from scholl etc…. I am going back in December – hoping he would be strong enough till then 🙁 but sadly had to go 🙁 i will miss him so much! without grandparents here in the UK its hard when the ones you dont see go.. so I found this poem which was perfect for me. And I would like to say thank you for that as it will be read on his funeral
Thank you
Melissa,
I’m glad you found the right poem on NanasCorner.com to honor your grandmother.
