Grandmother to Grandaughter Wedding Poem

Filed under: Poems: Inspirational, Poems: grandmother — Nana @ 7:15 am

Grandmothers, are you looking for a special keepsake to give to your grandaughter for her wedding day? A new handkerchief with this special wedding poem embroidered on it would give your grandaughter something to keep with her on her wedding day and to pass down to her grandaughter on her wedding day. Take the poem to a local embroidery shop so you can choose the perfect hanky design for your special grandaughter for her wedding day.

Wedding Bells are Ringing

 As wedding bells are ringing
you’ve had so much to do…
from addressing invitations
to finding something blue.

As the details now are finished
take some time to just relax,
enjoy these last few days
they’ll go by oh so fast!

This hanky is a keepsake
that’s from my heart to yours
to remind you of your (Nana’s) love
as you open your life’s doors.

May these next few days be filled with
happiness and cheer
and may the love you know today
grow deeper every year.

Bless you on your wedding day.

Angel Nana

Angel Nana

Have we told you how special we feel
Do you have any idea how big of a miracle you are
As we grew up we had you as a best friend
Someone we could always count on
You’re our Nana . . . Our sweet Nana

Mommy told us one day you’d be in heaven
It’s what happens when people grow old
She said while on earth you’re our grandma
But when God takes you there’s a new name you’re called

Angel Nana . . . Sweet Angel Nana

A bell will ring and then you’ll have your wings
You’ll fly and protect us where ever we go (more…)

Grandparents and Grandchildren Together: Poems for Grandparents

We celebrate our GrandMothers on Mother’s Day in May and GrandFathers on Father’s Day in June. Words alone cannot express our love and respect for our grandparents. We should also express our feelings through the way we treat those we love, often - not just a few times a year. Set an example for your children and grandchildren ~ give something of yourself by helping your loved one, an elder neighbor, or friend with chores, shopping, or paperwork on a schedule they can count on. And, when you have time, take them out for lunch, a drive, or a show. If your loved one or friend, can’t get out easily, bring lunch, flowers, and a video and treat them to “in” events to brighten up their days. There are many grandparents living in nursing homes that don’t have visitors, even on special days. Contact a local nursing home or assisted living facility to get permission to visit.

Here are a few poems to celebrate our grandmothers and grandfathers: (more…)

Grandma Days

Grandma days are happy days…
We have so many ways to play.
When are you coming to visit me…
Can it be soon, can it, please?
Reading, cooking, drawing with you…
Climbing, jumping, exploring, too
When’s the next time we can play…
Can it be next Saturday? (more…)

Grandparents and Grandchildren Together: 4 Grandma Poems

Grandma’s Gone Computer

In the not too distant past –
I remember very well–
Grandma’s tended to their knitting,
and their cookies were just swell.
They were always at the ready,
when you needed some advice.
And their sewing (I can tell you)
was available–and nice.

Well, Grandma’s not deserted you,
she dearly loves you still..
You just won’t find her cooking,
but she’s right there at the till.
She thinks about you daily–
you haven’t been forsook.
Your photos are quite handy,
in the Pentium notebook.
She scans your art work now though,
and combines it with cool sounds,
to make electronic greetings.
She prints pictures by the pound.

She’s right there when you need her,
you really aren’t alone,
She’s out now with her “‘puter pals,”
but she took her new cell phone.
You can also leave a message
on her answering machine;
or page her at the fun meet;
She’s been there since eight fifteen.

Yes, the world’s a very different place,
there is no doubt of that.
So “E” her from her web page,
or join her in a chat.
She’s joined the electronic age,
and it really seems to suit her.
So don’t expect the same old gal,
cause Grandma’s gone “Computer”

Grandmother Poem for Grandchildren to Act

Poetry is more enjoyable for grandchildren when they can act out the lines. With this poem, both grandmothers and grandchildren can get up and have fun with it through movement as they recite it. Your grandchildren may find it easier to learn the lines when they are connected to movement. This form of learning style is called kinesthetic modality. This learning style is especially effective for grandchildren who have difficulty focusing and maintaining attention.
