Sadness you are here,
inside the core of my being.
I don’t know why you come to me -
or do I?
Sadness, you must stay quiet…
for I am the mother -
the strength.
Sadness, don’t even let out a whisper…
I have purpose,
a reason for being.
Sadness, I won’t let you take over…
for I am the mother -
the strength.
Sadness, you have come again,
inside the core of my being.
I know why you have come.
Sadness, do not show yourself…
I am the daughter -
the strength.
Sadness, hide yourself in my smile…
I have purpose,
a reason for being.
Sadness, you come to me from both sides…
I am the mother, the daughter -
the strength.
