Grandchildren and Grandparents: New Jersey St. Patrick’s Day Parades, 2008
Grandparents, St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, March 17. Even though some towns have already celebrated St. Patrick’s
Day, it’s not too late to take your grandchildren to a parade. My grandchildren love watching parades, and so does this Nana. Here is a list of the New Jersey St. Patrick’s Day Parades planned to take place in local New Jersey towns from March 14 through March 29.
March 14 Newark, Essex County @ 2:00
The parade route is from Saint Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral along Mulberry Street to the New Devils Arena.
March 15 Atlantic City, Atlantic County @ 1:00
The parade will march on the Boardwalk beginning at New Jersey Avenue.
March 15 Morristown, Morris County @ 12:00
The parade will begin at the corner of South Street and James Street. The parade route is South Street to Atno Avenue.
March 15 Seaside Heights, Ocean County @ 12:00
The parade will march 1 1/4 miles on the Boulevard starting at the Seaside Park border and ending at Sherman Ave.
March 15 Newton, Sussex County @ 11:30
The Parade route will run through downtown Newton, along Spring Street, ending at Memory Park.
March 15 Union, Union County @ 1:00
The parade begins at Morris Avenue and proceeds east along Morris Avenue and ends at Roosevelt Avenue.
March 16 Bayonne, Hudson County @ 1:00
The parade begins from 5th Street and Broadway and marches to 39th Street.
March 16 Somerville, Somerset County @ 1:30
The Parade will begin at the corner of Main and Grove Streets in downtown Somerville and will proceed west to West End Avenue near Immaculate Conception Church.
March 16 Teaneck, Bergen County @ 2:00
The parade starts north of the National Guard Armory in Teaneck and continues north up Washington Avenue in Bergenfield to St. John’s Church.
March 16 Kearny, Essex County @ 2:00
The parade begins at 3rd Street and Harrison Avenue in Harrison, travels through the Borough of East Newark and ends at Quincy Ave. in Kearny.
March 22 Keyport, Monmouth County @ 1:00
The parade will start on Broad St. by the high school and end at Fireman’s Park on West Front Street.
March 24 Highlands, Monmouth County @ 2:00
The parade will begin at Huddy Park, along a one-mile stretch of Bay Avenue in the Highlands business district.
March 29 Keansburg, Monmouth County @ 1:00
The parade will start at Main St and Beachway and continuing up Main to Church and Church to Carr, then Carr to Beachway, ending at Beachway and Raritan.
